Irma A. Sieg

Normal_ Irma A. Sieg, 92, of Normal, passed away at 1:00 pm on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at Heritage Health in Normal.

Her funeral will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bloomington. Pastor Thomas Wirsing will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will follow in Park Hill Cemetery in Bloomington. Kibler_Brady_Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Sieg was born April 16, 1919 in Danvers, IL a daughter of Carl and Emma Ranft Oertwig. She married Elmer C. Sieg on August 9, 1940, in Keokuk, IA. He died on June 22, 2000.

Survivors include: one daughter, Karen A. (Delmar) Ogg of Harrisville, NH, one son, Herbert C. (Donna) Sieg of Carlock, IL; one stepson Robert Sieg of Oklahoma; one daughter_in_law, Joyce Wilson and one son_in_law, Jerry Apps both of Bloomington, IL; one sister, Viola Smith of West Lafayette, IN; 12 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, one sister, one brother, and 3 great great grandchildren.

As a young woman, she worked at the S.S. Kresge Company in downtown Bloomington for a number of years. Prior to her retirement in August of 1984, Mrs. Sieg worked as an Assistant Manager for 16 years at the Laesch Dairy Barn on Linden Street in Normal, IL.

She was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Bloomington, where she was a member of the Culinary Guild. She also held the offices of Sunday School Secretary and Treasurer.
