Clarence Onnen
Eureka- Clarence Onnen, 89, of Eureka, passed away at 2:29 pm on
Friday August 23, 2013 at the Maple Lawn Health Center in
Eureka.
He was born on May 25, 1924 in Benson, IL to Jacob and Rose
Paluska Onnen. He married Marilyn DeWilde on August 5, 1945
in Benson. She passed away on January 11, 2011.
Surviving are two sons, Steve (Sally) Onnen of Eureka; Dan
(Diane) Onnen of Defiance, MO;one daughter, Julie (Tim) Miller of
Eureka; six grandchildren, Jill (Jon) Fehr; Scott (Michelle) Onnen,
Brandon and Matt Onnen; Austin and Zach Miller; five great
grandchildren; and one sister, Mildred Tjaden of Pocahontas,
IA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers,
Robert and Marvin Onnen.
Clarence was a lifelong farmer in the area. He was a member of
the Woodford County Farm Bureau.
He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Benson where
funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday August
26th. Rev. William Hecht will officiate.
Visitation will be held from 9:30-11:00 am on Monday before the
services at the church. Burial will be in the Roanoke Township
Cemetery. Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka is in
charge of the arrangement.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to OSF
Hospice and Maple Lawn Home for the wonderful care that was shown
to both Clarence and Marilyn in their last days.
