Illinois State University and received certification as a
Registered Music Therapist.  She later continued her education

Study Certificate.

For sixteen years, Deborah worked as the office administrator at
Grace Church in Normal.  While at Grace Church she directed
the adult choir for 10 years, coordinated worship teams, was an
Awana leader, led women's Bible studies and participated in mission
trips to Costa Rica, Nicaragua, New York City, and China.  She
left Grace and moved to Taiyuan, China where she worked for Shanxi
Evergreen Service.  Evergreen consists of a group of Christian
professionals from China and around the world working for
Evergreen, a non-profit organization seeking to meet the needs of
the poor in China through supplying medicine, teaching English as a
second language and agriculture skills, introducing small business
ventures as well as supporting and building up the local church and
training local Chinese partners to continue and expand the work
being done.  Deborah returned to Normal and worked for the
last seven years at COUNTRY Financial.  She started in the
Customer Service Center and then transitioned to Learning &
Development, finishing with Corporate Communications as a Web

(the best group ever) at Eastview Christian Church in
Normal.

Deborah's passion included sharing the love of Jesus, God's Word
and mentoring others.  Her interests included individual and
group Bible study, worship music, calligraphy, beading, jewelry
making, cooking and biking.

Deborah's life was distinguished by her love for and confidence
in her Savior and her unyielding trust in his faithfulness and
provision.  "You, Lord, give true peace to those who depend on
you, because they trust you."  Isaiah 26:3.  Deborah
personified the true peace of Christ to all who shared in the final
months of her life.
