Selma Voorhees

Selma Suzanna Voorhees

Eureka-Selma Suzanna Voorhees, 91, of Eureka, IL formerly of
Danvers, IL passed away at 10:12 pm on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at
the Apostolic Christian Home of Eureka where she was a
resident.


She was born on November 17, 1921 in Danvers,
IL a daughter of Anton and Marie Thomas Dirks.  She married
Louis M. Voorhees on July 29, 1944 in Conway, SC.  He passed
away on July 30,
2004.


Survivors include three children, Connie
(Larry)Goldberg of Buffalo Grove, IL; Anna (Randall) Lundgren of
Gainesville, FL; Eldon Voorhees of Eureka, IL; one brother, Thomas
Dirks of Bloomington, IL; one sister, Edna Marie Thompson of
Colfax, IL; one sister-in-law, Mary Voorhees of IN; seven
grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husband, two
sons, Delmar and Raymond Voorhees, and one grandson, Philip
Hunter.


Selma had been employed at Eureka Hospital
and the Woodford County Historical Society.  She was a member
of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Woodford County Home Bureau, and
the Woodford County Historical
Society.


Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on
Monday, April 29, 2013 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in
Eureka.  Rev. Joe Burns will officiate.  Visitation will
be held on Sunday afternoon from 2-5 pm at the Argo-Ruestman-Harris
Funeral Home in Eureka.   Burial will be in Olio Township
Cemetery.


Memorial contributions may be made to Our
Redeemer Lutheran Church or Apostolic Christian Home of
