Adelina G. “Adel” Luster, 73, loving mother, Grammy, and wife, passed away on May 18, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her family and friends.
Adel was born on May 8, 1949, in Carrizo Springs, TX to Ramon and Hilaria Garcia Rodriguez. Adel grew up in Texas and in the small farming communities of Woodford County. On September 26, 1970, she married Donald R. McKinley. She later married Dale Q. Luster on July 1987.
She was the owner/operator of D&A Maintenance for over 30 years and was known for her meticulous work and strong work ethic.
For over 35 years Adel was a devout Jehovah’s Witness and found pleasure in sharing the word of Jehovah. One of her proudest accomplishments was graduating from the Pioneer Service School in 2021. In her final days battling ALS, Adel found comfort in Isaiah 41:10, “Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be anxious, for I am your God. I will fortify you, yes, I will help you, I will really hold on to you with my right hand of righteousness.”
Adel was preceded in death by her father, Ramon; mother, Hilaria; three brothers, Ramon Jr; Pedro; and Julio. She is survived by her husband, Dale of Normal; two sons, Michael Allen McKinley (Anna Clara) of Niteroi, Brazil; Mac Eugene McKinley (Pam Galloway) of Bloomington; two stepsons, Brandon Luster (Sandra) of Gridley; Troy Luster (Sara) of Phoenix, AZ; two sisters, Olga Hunt (Bill) of Eureka; Delmira Rosenfeld (Mike) Eureka. Adel was much loved to her nieces and nephews. She touched many lives, very importantly her baby girl, Madison Christianson, who calls her Grammy.
The family would like to thank Bridgette Perez, Sanaa Ragland, and Angie Rodriguez for their overwhelming support.
A graveside services will be held at 2pm on Monday, May 23, 2022, at Roanoke Township Cemetery. There will be a time of celebration and fellowship following the cemetery service at Knapp-Johnson-Harris Funeral Home in Roanoke.
