Alberta L. Davenport


Gridley- Alberta L. Davenport, 97, of Joliet, IL formerly of
Gridley, IL passed away at 7:35 pm on  Sunday, December 29,
2013 at Heritage Health Care in Normal, IL.


Cremation rites will be accorded and private family services will
be held at a later date at Gridley Cemetery. Ruestman-Harris
Funeral Home in El Paso is assisting the family with their
arrangements.


Alberta was born on January 26, 1916 in Gridley Township in McLean
County, IL a daughter of Charles E. and Jeanette E. Berg
Gibbs.  She married George "Don" Davenport on October 26, 1941
in Bloomington, IL.  He passed away in August of 1998.


Survivors include her nephew, Dale (Rebecca) Hussemann of Hudson,
IL; one great niece Jeanette Hussemann of Alexandria, VA; one great
nephew Scott Hussemann of Hudson, IL; and special friends Nancy and
Sally Drauden of Joliet, IL.


She was preceded in death by her parents, one son David; two
sisters Ruth Hussemann and Naomi Gibbs; and one brother Merle
Gibbs.


Alberta worked as a beautician in Joliet for many years. She was a
member of the Grace United Methodist Church in
Joliet.
