Roanoke- Barbara E. Moser, 86, of Roanoke, passed away at 5:40 pm on Thursday July 7, 2016 at the Roanoke Apostolic Christian Home.
She was born on Jan 30, 1930 in rural Deer Creek, the youngest of seven children to Joshua and Susie Reel Nohl. She married Lyle Moser on June 19, 1949 in Eureka, IL. He survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Gladys (Tom) Carr of Secor; Susan Garber of Roanoke; two sons, Greg (Sharlene) Moser; Todd ( Kathy) Moser both of Roanoke; one son-in-law, Rick Gerber of Roanoke; one brother, Cecil Nohl; one sister, Alice Nohl both of Goodfield; 20 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Mark and Leslie; one daughter, Shirley Gerber; one brother, Ivan Nohl; three sisters, Lavina Fehr; Clara Nohl; Frances Klopfenstein; one granddaughter-in-law, Lisa Gerber; and one great grandson, Micah Gerber.
Barb graduated from Eureka High School as valedictorian of the class of 1948. She was a homemaker and enjoyed raising her family. She loved to sew and do crossword puzzles, but she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She was a member of the Roanoke Apostolic Christian Church where funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday July 11, 2016. Church ministers will officiate. Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Sunday at Knapp-Johnson-Harris Funeral Home in Roanoke and from 9:00 am - 9:45 am on Monday prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Roanoke Apostolic Christian Home for the tender love and care given to their mother.
