Betty Hubbard

Lacon-Betty Hubbard, 87, of Lacon passed away at 2:35 a.m. on
Saturday February 2, 2013 at St. Joseph's Nursing Home in
Lacon.  She was born on May 12, 1925 in Richland Township to
the late Emory and Alta (Vincent) Tutttle.  She married Ralph
Hubbard on May 12, 1945 in Peoria; he preceded her in death on
October 21, 2012.

She is survived by children Jerry (Char) Hubbard, of
Chillicothe, Randy Hubbard, of Woodland, Anita (Willie) Evans, of
Lacon, and Jay Hubbard and his close friend, Edie, of Henry;
grandchildren Wendy and Ryan Hubbard, Angela Kepler, Joshua, Jacob,
and Justin Evans, Annie and April Hubbard, and Chad and Lydia
Hubbard; 21 great-grandchildren; Charlie Morgan, of East Peoria;
and one brother, Emory Tuttle, of Morton.

She was preceded in death by one sister.

After graduation, Betty moved to Peoria and worked for Block
& Kuhl and later worked for Western Union as a clerk.  She
then met her future husband, Ralph Hubbard on a blind date in the
spring of 1944.  Betty's proudest moment was giving birth to
her children.  Betty and Ralph named their children
together.   Betty took on the role of mother and
housewife.  Betty considered being a mother, grandmother, and
great-grandmother as her greatest accomplishment.

She also enjoyed baking, sewing, and doll making.  She was
a Sunday School Teacher, and Awana leader, and a 4-H leader.
Betty will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Services will be at 11:00a.m. on Thursday February 7, 2013 at
Lenz Memorial Home in Lacon, with a visitation one hour
prior.  The Reverend Charles Buegel will officiate.
Cremation rites will be accorded and burial of ashes will be at a
later date.  Memorials may be made to St. Joseph's Nursing
Home in Lacon.  Online condolences may be expressed at
