Billy R. Slaughter



Congerville- Billy R. Slaughter, 72, of Congerville,
IL passed away at 12:49a.m. on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at OSF
St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.

He was born on November 22, 1940 in Clifty, Kentucky a son of
Omen C. and Ible Edwards Slaughter. He married Patricia Williams on
September 3, 1961 in Dumnor, Kentucky. She survives.



Survivors also include one daughter, Theresa(Donald) Waddell of
DeWitt, IL; one son, Michael Slaughter of Congerville; two
granddaughters, Jessica Crosier, Ashley(Zak) Ooms; two
great-grandchildren, Jonathon Waddell, Madison Waddell; two
sisters, Jean(C.R.) Carver of Flora, IL; Phyllis Dunn of Anchorage,
AK.



He was preceded in death by his parents.



Billy worked at Morton Caterpillar plant for 32 years before
retiring in 1998. He also helped farm for Ken Coulter for 5
years.



He loved to fish with his son Michael. He was an avid Kentucky
Wildcats basketball fan. Billy never knew a stranger. Once you met
Billy you never forgot him. He loved family dearly especially his
wife, children and grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew
him.



Funeral services will be held at 11:00a.m. on Saturday, December
15, 2012 at the Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka.
Reverend Bob Brown will officiate. Visitation will be held on
Friday, December 14, 2012 from 5-8p.m. at Argo-Ruestman-Harris
Funeral Home in Eureka and one hour prior to services on Saturday
at the funeral home. Burial will be in Imhoff Cemetery in
Congerville. Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka is
handling arrangements for family.



Memorial contributions may be made to the Congerville Fire
Department. Online condolences may be sent to the family at
