Roanoke - Edith Carol Whitten, 80, of Roanoke, passed away at 7:45 pm on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at the Apostolic Christian Home of Roanoke.
She was born on October 18, 1938 in Menominee, Michigan to Charles and Viola Just Mullard. She married Delbert "Gene" Whitten on April 1, 1967 in Chicago, IL. He passed away on January 6, 2018.
Surviving is one daughter, Ella (Dan) Waldschmidt; two sons, Dennis (Chris) Fett; David (Lori) Whitten all of Roanoke; three sisters, Shirley Smith; Karen (Joe) Kesti; Joyce (Lyle) Cherry all of Wisconsin; four brothers, Elmer (Janet) Mullard of Michigan; Paul (Joyce) Mullard of Wisconsin; Alvin Mullard of Chicago; Ronald (Susan) Mullard of Alabama; eight grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Dale Whitten, and one sister, Doris Pejza.
Carol was a CNA working at the Apostolic Christian Home in Roanoke for 35 years.
Carol loved taking care of others especially her family. She enjoyed crocheting, and loved to color. She loved to collect bells and had an extensive bell collection.
She attended the Apostolic Christian Church in Roanoke where funeral services will be held at 10 am on Monday, December 10th. Church ministers will officiate. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-4 pm at Knapp-Johnson-Harris Funeral Home in Roanoke and from 9-9:45 am on Monday prior to the services at church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
