Bloomington-
Carolina Smith, 52, of Bloomington passed away at 6:51 a.m. on
Thursday, May 23, 2013 at Advocate BroMenn Regional Medical Center,
Normal.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at
11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at St Mary's Catholic Church
in Bloomington with Fr. Ric Schneider O.F.M. officiating.
Visitation will be 9:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the services at the
church on Wednesday.

Cremation rites will be accorded
following the services.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be
made to Crohn's disease research in Carolina's name.

Carolina was born on October 13,
1960 in Chicago, a daughter of Theodore and Bernice (Cousins)
Maclin. She married Michael A. Smith on April 6, 1991 at St. Mary's
Catholic Church in Bloomington, he survives.

In addition to her husband Michael,
she leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Dustin A. Smith,
Bloomington; daughter, Sydney M. E. Smith, Bloomington; Father,
Theodore Maclin, Maywood; two brothers, Maxwell Maclin, Kokomo, IN,
Wendell Maclin, Maywood; sister, Debora Johnson,
Flossmoor.

She was preceded in death by her
mother and a sister, Theresa.

Carolina was a member of St. Mary's
Catholic Church in Bloomington and Tri Valley High School Football
and Cheer Moms.  She graduated from Proviso East High School
in Maywood and later Illinois State University.  She was
employed at State Farm in the systems department.
