Charles Curtis

Normal. Charles Ray "Charlie"
Curtis, 85, of Normal, passed away at 10:55 p.m. on Tuesday, March
05, 2013 at Advocate Bromenn Medical Center. A celebration of
Charlie's life will be held at Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home
at 12:30 p.m. with Pastor Kurt Flora Officiating. Family will
receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Sunday March 17,
2013. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Charlie's name
to St. Jude Childrens Hospital.

Charlie was born November 10, 1927
in Olney, Illinois the son of Forest and Cora (Dunlap) Curtis. He
married Alice I. Gaddy on December 02, 1950 in Laporte,
Indiana.

He is survived by his wife, Alice
Curtis; two daughters: Sandra (Robert) Hipsher of North Pekin, IL;
Linda Beckman of Vandalia, IL; and one son: William (Roberta)
Curtis, of Bloomington, IL. He is also survived by seven
grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and two great-great
grandchildren.

Charlie was preceded in death by
his parents, one grand-daughter and one great-grandson.

Charlie was a United States Navy
Veteran and member of the American Legion. He was a former
Correctional Captain at Vandalia Correctional Center and retired
Maintenance Supervisor for the Vandalia School System.
