Charles Meginnes

January 14, 1950 — December 21, 2015

Peoria-Charles Michael Meginnes (Chuck) of Peoria. Born January 14, 1950, passed away December 21, 2015 after a year long battle with colon cancer. Charles was the son of Lillian and the late Charles Meginnes.

Chuck was a graduate of Illinois Central College. He served 6 years in the Air National Guard. He was a longtime employee of Sears. Chuck later sold real estate for Remax Realty. He enjoyed playing in his Wednesday golf league and taking an annual golf trip with friends to Alabama. He also enjoyed watching sports, especially NASCAR and the Chicago Cubs, White Sox, Bulls and Bears.

In addition to his mother, Charles is survived by his brothers Brian (Mary Jane) and Tim (Judy) as well as several nieces, nephews and great nieces.

The family wishes to thank Bob Griggs for the wonderful friendship and support he gave Chuck throughout his illness. They also wish to thank the care givers at Heartland Manor Care.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Knapp Johnson Harris Funeral Home, 204 W. Husseman Street, Roanoke. Ed Sauder will officiate. Visitation will be held from 1:30-3:00 pm prior to the service. Private family interment.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Illinois Cancer Care Foundation, 8940 Wood Sage Road, Peoria, IL 61615.
