Dean R. Martin

Dean R. Martin, 84, of Roanoke, formerly of East Peoria, passed away October 16, 2022, at the Apostolic Christian Home of Roanoke.

He was born on July 31, 1938, in Eureka, IL to Raymond V. and Marie Rassi Martin.  He married Judith Sauder on June 7, 1959, in Morton.  She passed away on March 8, 2005. 

Surviving is one son, Gregg (Cheley) Martin of Pekin; one daughter, Tricia (Tim) Wagenbach of Princeville; one daughter-in-law, Crystal Martin of East Peoria; two sisters, Janice (Marshall) Heinold and Kathleen (Morrie) Zimmerman; one sister-in-law, Jay Martin of Bloomington; one brother-in-law Roger (Judy) Sauder; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Eunice Martin; one son Troy Martin; and one brother, Tom Martin.

Dean proudly served his country in the Air National Guard.

Dean owned and operated Martin Furniture in East Peoria, IL.

He was a member of the Peoria Apostolic Christian Church having served in the past as church trustee.

Dean loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling.  Most of all though, Dean  enjoyed spending time with family and especially time with his grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday October 20^th at the Peoria Apostolic Christian Fellowship Hall in Edwards, IL.  Church ministers will officiate.  Visitation will be held from 9-10:45 prior to the services at the fellowship hall.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.
