Chillicothe-Debra Lynn Wiegand, 48, of Chillicothe, IL passed away at 3:20 pm on Sunday, January 1, 2017 at her residence after bravely battling brain cancer for the last five years.
She was born on July 4, 1968 in Peoria, IL a daughter of Cecil J. and Sandra K. Ulmer Herring. She married Merle Wiegand on May 21, 1994 in Peoria, IL. He survives.
Also surviving is her son, Bret Wiegand at home; her father, Cecil Herring of Astoria, IL; one brother, Cecil (Suzanne) Herring, Jr. of Rome, IL; one sister, Lisa Harmon of Peoria, IL; and many nieces, nephews, and friends who surrounded her with love and support in her final days.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
Debra loved her family and enjoyed attending all of her son's sports activities throughout the years. She worked several jobs in the medical field, last working at CIRA until February 2013.
She was at peace with her love for Jesus Christ and was a member of the Eureka Apostolic Christian Church. She was greatly loved and will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the Eureka Apostolic Christian Church. Church ministers will officiate. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 4-7 pm at Knapp-Johnson-Harris Funeral Home in Roanoke and from 9-9:45 am on Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Roanoke Apostolic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.knappjohnsonharris.com.
