Bloomington - Dixon R. "Dick"
Hoog, 90, of Bloomington passed away at 11:53 p.m. on Sunday,
October 13, 2013 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in
Bloomington.
Cremation rites will be accorded
per Dixon's wishes. No services will be held. Memorials
may be made to the VFW in Bloomington. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman
Memorial Home in Bloomington is assisting the family with
arrangements.
He was born on October 6, 1923, in
Cleveland, OH, a son to Frank Francis and Jeannette Dixon
Hoog.
Dixon is survived by a sister,
Jeannette (Lester) Morrissey, of Bloomington and several nieces and
nephews.
He was preceded in death by his
parents, a sister, Winnie Schultz and a brother, Frank Hoog.
Dixon proudly served his country in
the Army in World War II, mostly in Germany.
He was an avid fisherman and hunter
his whole life. He made many fishing lures.
