Doris Bowald

Roanoke- Doris Mae Bowald, 94, of Roanoke, IL, received the
ultimate Christmas present when she passed away on Christmas day
and was received into her Savior's arms at 4:41 pm at the Apostolic
Christian Home in Roanoke where she was a resident.

She was born on October 22, 1918 in Roanoke, IL to John and
Caroline Hodel Bowald.

Surviving are her nieces and nephews, Shirley (John) Kilgus of
Forrest; Dwayne (Mary Lu) Bowald of East Peoria; Donald Bowald of
Peoria; Kathy Smith of Bloomington;11 great; 16 great great; and 4
great great great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Earl and
Arthur Bowald; and three nieces.

Doris was a special aunt and friend to all. She enjoyed
traveling, handy work, and quilting. She had been a wonderful
caretaker to her parents and will be missed by those that knew
her.

The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to
the staff of the Apostolic Christian Home of Roanoke where she
received wonderful care for 14 years.

She was a member of the Roanoke Apostolic Christian Church where
funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday December 28,
2012. Church ministers will officiate. Visitation will be held from
5-7 pm on Thursday at Knapp-Johnson-Harris Funeral Home and from
9-9:45 on Friday at the church. Burial will be in the church
cemetery.
