Duane Studer
Roanoke- Duane Studer, 77, of Roanoke, passed away at 5:57 pm on Friday, January 26, 2018 at Snyder Village Health Center in Metamora.
He was born on March 25, 1940 to Lloyd C. and Agnes E. Albrecht Studer. He married Marilyn Jean Litwiller on December 4, 1976 in Hopedale, IL. She passed away August 8, 2015.
Surviving is his brother, Roger (Karen) Studer of Roanoke and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
An Army veteran, Duane proudly served his country in Germany during the Vietnam War.
He was a member of the Roanoke American Legion Post # 463.
Duane farmed in the Roanoke area all his life. He bled John Deere green and collected many John Deere toy miniature and collectables. He enjoyed following sports especially NCAA basketball where he was a huge North Carolina Tar Heels fan. He was always cheering on his Atlanta Braves during the baseball season and was a fan of the Minnesota Vikings.
He was a member of Living Faith Fellowship Church.
Duane had an uncanny knowledge of remembering roads and directions and he was GPS before there was GPS. He never knew a stranger and was never too busy to take time out to socialize and visit with others.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday January 31, at the Snyder Village Center in Metamora. Pastor Brett Woerner will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm on Tuesday at Knapp-Johnson-Harris Funeral Home in Roanoke and from 9:30 - 10am prior to the services on Wednesday at the Snyder Village Center. Burial will be in the Roanoke Mennonite Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Living Faith Fellowship Church or to Snyder Village.
