EUREKA- Elsie J. Azbill, 92, of Eureka, passed away at 10:55 PM
on Saturday June 15 (2013), at the Maple Lawn Health Care Center in
Eureka.
She was born on September 8, 1920 in Deer Creek, the
daughter of Hugh and Carrie Jane Mabie Kennedy. She married Cecil
Azbill on January 11, 1942 in Peoria and he preceded her in death
in 1998.
Surviving are her daughters, Joyce Kennedy, Sun
City, AZ ; Diane ( Al) Hinnen, Eureka; and Janie Kennedy,
Washington; a son, Floyd Azbill, Keokuk, IA; a brother, Art (Susie)
Kennedy, Deer Creek; a sister, Virginia ( Kenneth) Platte, SC; 14
grandchildren;12 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-
grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Leonard Azbill;
2 sisters; and 1 brother.
Elsie was a member of the Congerville Mennonite
Church; she was also a member of the Deer Creek American Legion
Auxiliary for 60 plus years.
Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 am on
Wednesday June 19, at the Maple Lawn Health Care Center Memorial
Hall in Eureka. Rev. Phil Bachman and Chaplain Doane Brubaker will
officiate the service. Inurnment will be private for the
family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed toward
the Maple Lawn Health Care Center or the Imhoff Cemetery
Association.
