Floyd Beel

February 9, 1922 — March 21, 2014

Normal- Dr. Floyd E. Beel, 92, of
Normal, passed away at 4:40 p.m. on Friday, March 21, 2014 at his
home in Normal. Cremation Rites have been accorded.

A private graveside service with
full military honors will be held at Funks Grove Cemetery at a
later date. Memorials may be made to the charity of donor's choice.
Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington is assisting the
family with arrangements.

Floyd was born on February 09, 1922
in Decatur, Illinois, a son to Leown Irl and Emma Jane Calvert
Beel. He married Mary Lou Batson in Alton, Illinois on October 11,
1947. She preceded him in death on February 17, 1999

He is survived by one daughter,
Janey Hildestad of Estero, Florida; one granddaughter, Chelsea
Hildestad and one great-grandson, Connor, both of Highlands Ranch,

Floyd was preceded in death by his
parents and two brothers, Cecil F. and Ivor E. Beel.

Floyd graduated from school in
Decatur and joined the United States Army Air Corps, 8th
Air Force in 1943. Lieutenant Beel piloted 27 missions over
occupied Europe during World War II, flying a B-24. He was awarded
the Air Medal and three Oak Leaf Clusters during the war. After his
time of service, Floyd attended and graduated from Logan
Chiropractic School in St. Louis, Missouri. He started his practice
in February of 1949 in Bloomington and retired December of 1989. He
was a member of the Bloomington Veterans of Foreign War, Post 454,
the Normal American Legion, Post 635, and was affiliated with First
Baptist Church of Bloomington. Floyd was a loving father and a good
man, he will be deeply missed.
