Roanoke - Geneva Pearl Davis, 93, of Roanoke, IL passed away Sunday,January 22, 2017 at 6:50 pm at the Apostolic Christian Home of Roanoke.
Born in Douglas County, IL on December 28, 1923 to Homer and Nellie Allen Mathews, she married Paul W. Davis February 23, 1940. He passed away July 15, 2007.
She is survived by four sons, Dan (Diana) Davis, Roanoke, IL; Ron (Christa) Davis LaMoille, IL: Matt Davis, Roanoke, IL; Jeff Davis, Eureka, IL; three daughters, Sherry (Gary) Garber, Metamora, IL: Connie (John) Nafziger, Gahanna, Ohio; Trudy Davis; Texas; eleven grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Clifford, Kenneth, Joe, and Bert Mathews; and three sisters, Ruth (Charles)Turek; Ruby (Harold) Homme; and Dorothy (Wayne) Clesson.
Geneva was a homemaker and also worked along side her husband Paul in their woodworking shop in Mason City, IL. She was a lady with many talents. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, quilting, doll making, oil painting, stone carving and was a wonderful cook and pie maker.
She was a member of Eureka Bible Church in Eureka, IL where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 am. Pastor Aaron Zehr will officiate. Visitation will be from 10-11 prior to the service at the church. A 2 pm grave side burial will be in Stanford, IL at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Knapp-Johnson-Harris Funeral Home in Roanoke is assisting the family with arrangements.
