George Jenkins

Roanoke- George M. Jenkins, 45, of Roanoke, passed away at 4:03 pm on January 23, 2018 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Center in Peoria.

He was born on November 18, 1972 in Peoria, IL to George C. and Audrey Brubaker Jenkins. He married Kimberly Nutt on September 20, 1997.

Surviving is his wife, Kim of Roanoke and their three children, Cody (Ally)Jenkins of Pattonsburg; Macy and Levi Jenkins both at home; one brother, Steve (Chris) Jenkins of Roanoke; and one sister, Carol (Tom) Robison of Sauk Rapids, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Barb Robison, and one niece, Amy Robison.

George worked in the automotive industry for many years as a mechanic and service manager. He realized his dream of owning his own company in 2013 when he and his son Cody opened Jenkins Automotive in Roanoke.

George enjoyed many things in life. He loved working on and racing old muscle cars. He loved camping and enjoyed spending time outdoors, but the thing he cherished most was spending time with his family, especially around a good steak dinner.

He attended Crosspoint Community Church in Eureka, where a celebration of George's life will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, January 27th. Visitation will be held on Friday from 3-7 pm at Knapp-Johnson-Harris Funeral Home in Roanoke. Per his wishes, cremation rites will follow.

Memorial contributions may be directed to an education fund set up for his son, Levi, at the Roanoke-Benson Community Bank. Online condolences may be sent to the family at
