Bloomington-Howard
W. Gaddis, 70, of Bloomington passed away on Friday, September 28,
2012 at 4:35 a.m. at his home in Bloomington. Funeral services will
be held at 10 am on Monday, October 1, at Bloomington First Church
of the Nazarene on 2207 N.Towanda-Barnes RD, Bloomington, with
Pastor Dan McCall officiating. Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. on
Sunday, September 30, at Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in
Bloomington. Burial will be at Park Hill Cemetery in Bloomington.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Advocate Hospice in
Howard's name. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington
is handling arrangements.
Howard was born on November 10,
1941 in Cincinnati, Ohio a son to Earl and Irene (Condor) Gaddis.
He married Jeannie Casey on January 12, 1972 in Bloomington, IL and
she survives.
In addition to his wife Jeannie,
Howard is survived by his five sons: Brian Gaddis of Bloomington,
IL; Wes (Maegan) Gaddis of Normal, IL; Billy (Angie) Gaddis of
Columbia, South Carolina; Darrell Gaddis of Bloomington, IL; and
Travis Gaddis of Leroy, IL. Three daughters: Irene (Robert) Sloat
of Wapella, IL; Penny (Richard) Garret of Bloomington, IL; and Pam
Gaddis of Bloomington, IL. His five brothers: Earl Gaddis of ,
Shattuck, Oklahoma; Gary (Spencer) Gaddis of Helena, Alabama; Mike
(Linda) Gaddis of Bloomington, IL; Frank Gaddis of Indianapolis,
Indiana; and Glenn Gaddis of Louisville, Kentucky; and his sister
Janet Cottier of Bloomington, Il. He is survived by 18
grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his
parents, his son James Casey, and three brothers Jack Gaddis, Jim
Gaddis, and Kenneth Gaddis.
Howard was a roofer for over 20
years and was loved and respected by anyone who ever followed him
up a ladder. In 2002 he became a painter for his brother Mike
Gaddis. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and
friend.
