James J. Hasty
El Paso-James J. Hasty, 83 of 301 S. Elm St., El Paso died at 6:27
a.m. on Sunday February 16, 2013 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center,
Bloomington.
He was born April 19, 1929 at Mackinaw a son of Clifford and Alice
B. Cooley Hasty. Jim was cared for and raised by Harvey and
Winifred Wingstirn. He married Mildred J. Webb on December 24, 1952
at El Paso. She died on April 19, 2012.
Survivors include two sons, Michael (Susan) Hasty, Greenville, SC
and Pat (Karyn) Hasty, Kappa; one daughter, Sharon (Herb) Flesher,
Gridley; 6 grandchildren, Thane Hasty, Greenville, SC, Shannon
(Jun) Almero, Buckley,CO, Travis Hasty, Greenville, SC, Matthew and
Jonathon Hasty both of Kappa, and Breanna (Scott) Naleway,
Bloomington; 3 great grandchildren and 2 sisters, Fern Payne and
Rowena Howell both of CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 3
sisters.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, El Paso and the Knights
of Pithius. He was retired from Job Services with the Department of
Labor in Bloomington. He and his wife had owned Quality Pak Meats
and Hasty's Market both in El Paso.
Jim served with the United States Army during WW II and the Korean
War.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 22,
2013 at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home, ElPaso. Rev. Dr. Tim Smith
will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, El Paso with
full military honors. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 Thursday at
Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home, EL Paso.
