James Melvin Schumacher
Roanoke- James Melvin Schumacher, 67, of Roanoke, IL passed away
at 2:00p.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at the Richard L. Owens
Hospice Home in Peoria, IL.
He was born on June 13, 1945 in Pekin, IL a son of Melvin and
Bessie Anliker Schumacher. He married Leslie K. Woodside on June 8,
1968 in Eureka, IL. She survives.
Also surviving are four sons, Patrick (Lyn) Schumacher; Mark
(Judy) Schumacher; Richard (Jennifer) Schumacher; Jason (Rebecca)
Schumacher all of Roanoke, IL; two brothers, Robert Schumacher of
Roanoke; Melvin (Jenny) Schumacher, Jr. of Metamora; five sisters,
Dolores Mosshart of Oklahoma City, OK; Betty (Bill) Cruikshank of
Jacksonville, N.C.; Patty Fuller of Sherman, TX; Dixie (Larry)
Vogel of Roanoke; Emily (Ben) Beer of Sun City, AZ; nine
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Harriet Pisel
and one infant brother, Richard Lee Schumacher.
An Army Veteran, James served his country during the Vietnam War
James worked at the Ulrich Manufacturing in Roanoke, Metamora
Industries in Metamora, Wayne's Used Parts in El Paso then before
retiring in December 31, 2012 he worked at Car Quest Parts in
James was a member, deacon and treasurer of Averyville Baptist
Church in East Peoria, IL.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 17, 2013 from 4-7 p.m. at
Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka. Funeral services will
be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at
Knapp-Johnson-Harris Funeral Home in Roanoke. Pastor David Coyle
will officiate. Burial will be in Roanoke Township Cemetery where
military rites will be accorded at the grave. Knapp-Johnson-Harris
Funeral Home in Roanoke is handling arrangements.
