EUREKA-- Janelle E. Roseman, 89, of Eureka, passed away at 7:35
PM on Saturday, February 22, 2014, at the Apostolic Christian Home
in Eureka, where she was a resident.
Janelle was born on August 30, 1924 in
Lexington, IL, a daughter of Jesse and Luscina Barnett Vandegraft.
She married Marvin W. Freeman on May 15, 1943. He died in the line
of duty, while fighting in World War II. She later married Wendell
E. Roseman on May 25, 1946 in Bloomington, IL. He preceded her in
death on November 20, 2010.
Surviving are her children, Ron (Beth)
Roseman; Lynn (Mary) Roseman; David Roseman, all of Eureka; 10
grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Helen (Charles)
Whitacre, Hudson; brothers, Jim (Donna) Vandegraft,
Danvers; Clifford (Betty) Vandegraft, Eureka; and Jerry
(Joyce) Vandegraft, Chillicothe.
She was preceded in death by a son Terry L.
Freeman, and brother, Bill Vandegraft.
Janelle enjoyed working crossword puzzles,
music, and the monthly luncheons with her siblings. Her greatest
love however, was spending time with her grandchildren whom she
adored.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on
Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home
in Eureka. Rev. Joe Burns will officiate. Visitation will be held 1
hour prior to the service from 1-2 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Olio
Township Cemetery in Eureka.
In lieu of flowers and food, the family
requests that memorials be made to The American Legion Post #466 in
Eureka, or to The Alzheimer's Association of Greater Illinois.
