Kevin John Pfister

El Paso- Kevin John Pfister, 37, of El Paso, IL passed away at
12:14 pm on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at Advocate
BroMenn Medical Center in Normal, IL.

He was born on March 1, 1975 in Normal, IL a son of Jerry and
Sharon Smith Pfister. He is survived by his parents of El Paso, two
brothers, Lester J. "Jay" Pfister; David (Holly) Pfister both of El
Paso, IL; one sister, Maria Pfister (Alan Gunn) of Chicago, IL;
cherished nieces and nephews, Lianna and Gabriel Pfister; Helen,
Adam, and Lilly Gunn; and many dear aunts, uncles, cousins, and
countless friends all over the world.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lester and Helen
Pfister and Edward and Veronica Smith; uncles Dr. James Smith,
Walter Pfister, Jim Cassidy, and aunts Gerri Smith Armstrong,
Josephine Pfister, and Marge Pfister.

Kevin attended schools in Bloomington, Normal, and El Paso, IL
graduating from EPHS in 1995. His graduation day was a great day
for Kevin though he would have been happy to stay in school for the
rest of his life. He served as manager for the EPHS boys basketball
team for many years and remained a super-fan while also cheering
for neighboring Fieldcrest in his later years.

Kevin loved people unconditionally and touched many lives. He
enjoyed participating in Special Persons Encounter Christ, SOAR
activities, Special Olympics, Faith and Light, Prayerie Light, and
anything to do with church.

He traveled extensively with family members to Hawaii, Ireland,
England, Austria, Germany, France, Italy, and Israel serving Mass
in each foreign country that he visited. He loved music and he had
a remarkable memory. He enjoyed planning get-togethers, especially
his annual birthday parties.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, October
6, 2012 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in El Paso. Fr. Roger Corpus,
OSB and Fr. Dan Wilder will officiate. Visitation will be held on
Friday evening from 4-7 pm at the Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in
El Paso. A prayer service will follow the visitation at 7:30 pm.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church 79 W. Third
St. El Paso, IL or Homes of Hope Inc. 401 W. Pine St. Normal, IL.
