Chicago, IL- Kurtis L. Sharp, 56,
of Chicago, IL passed away at 6:58 a.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at
Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, IL. His grave
side services will be at 2 P.M. on Friday, May 31, 2013 at
Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Bloomington with Pastor Kurt Flora
officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior
to the services at Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home. Burial will
be at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Bloomington.
Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington is handling
arrangements.
Kurtis was born on May 14, 1957 in
Decatur, IL to Robert and Dorothy Baldwin Sharp.
Surviving is his brother: Doug
(Nina) Sharp of Carlock, IL; two nieces: Kelly Sharp of
Bloomington; Jade (Ryan) Cothern of Decatur; three nephews: Robert
Sharp of Decatur; Chris (Jennifer) Sharp of Decatur; Alan Sharp of
Decatur; his adopted mom, Betsy Pool of Sycamore, IL and an adopted
sister Betsy Pool of Dixon, IL
He was preceded in death by his
brother Mark Sharp.
Kurtis graduated with a Masters in
Fine Arts from University of Wisconsin at Madison, and begin
work as a self-employed scenic designer and artist in Chicago and
other venues. He was a union officer for the International
Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees for Local 829. Kurtis will
be sorely missed by his family and dear theater friends in Chicago,
New York and other points in between. He was a talented artist and
joy to work with and made many friends though his scenic and union
activities through the years. There is a Kurt-sized hole in many
hearts..
