Lora Roth

Lora Lucile Roth,　71, passed away on　October 16,
2013　at her home　in
rural
Gridley, IL.　She　was born on　January 21, 1942　in　North Platte,
NE　to　Dan Connell and Lena Fay (Paxton) Connell.


Lora　grew up on a ranch
in　rural Stapleton, NE.　She　graduated from　Thomas County High
School　in　Thedford, NE　in　1959. After high school,
she　attended　college　at　Grace Bible Institute　in　Omaha,
NE　where　she　received a　Bachelors of Arts degree　in　Christian
Education.  While her brothers were serving in the military,
she began working for her father as a ranch hand prior to moving to
Illinois in 1968 to work at the Salem Children's Home.  She
spent 20 years raising her 5 kids before returning to work as a
teacher's aide at Salem School and Flanagan School.


Lora　married　Darrell W.
Roth in　1973　in　Gridley, IL. They were happily married
for　40　years. She was a member of　Salem Church
where she was involved in many ministries including teaching girls
club and children's church.　She　enjoyed　sewing, crocheting,
gardening, and helping Darrell on the farm.　She　was also dedicated
to giving blood and was able to donate 9 gallons during her life
time.


Lora　was preceded in
death by　her parents, Dan and Fay Connell; sister, Colleen Miller;
brother-in-law, Larry Smith; sister-in-law, Carol Connell; and
sister-in-law, Phyllis Connell.


Lora　is survived by　her
husband
Darrell　Roth of　Gridley, IL; her five children: Bill
(Becky) Roth of Gridley, IL; Reggie (Melinda) Roth of Gridley, IL;
Lori (Joe) Alstat of Greenville, IL; Dustin (Jamie) Roth of Eureka,
IL; and Marty (Julie) Roth of Morton, IL.  She is survived by
her thirteen grandchildren: Tyler, Alyie and Audrey Roth (Bill);
Jude and Makenna Roth (Reggie); Hudson, Cohen and Teague Alstat
(Lori); Natali, Connell and Lilian Roth (Dustin); Benjamin and
Ellie Roth (Marty).  She is also survived by her 3 brothers
and 4 sisters: Dan (Geneva) Connell of Tryon, NE; Barbara (Charles)
Patterson of Callaway, NE; Carolyn (Eldon) Pritzel of Englewood,
CO; Sam Connell of Tryon, NE; Mike (Tina) Connell of Stapleton, NE;
Wilma (Al) Barkman of Lingle, WY; and Wanda Wilkins of Drexel,
MO.


Visitation will be from
4-9 PM at Ruestman-Harris funeral home, 40 W Main St El
Paso, IL on Friday October 18. Funeral service will be at Salem
Church, 4925 E 1250 N Rd. Gridley, IL 61744 on Saturday, October 19
at 10:00 am.  Interment will immediately follow the service at
Waldo Cemetery.
