Roanoke - Lorena Wolfe, 91, of Roanoke, Illinois passed away on January 31, 2021 at the Apostolic Christian Home of Roanoke.
She was born December 12, 1929 in Canton, Illinois to Leonard L. and M. Ethel (Bjorklund) Miller. Lorena graduated from Cuba High School and Western Illinois University. She moved to Roanoke in 1952 where she taught high school English and Art for three years.
Lorena married Robert F. Wolfe on March 11, 1955 in Dallas City, Illinois. He survives. Also surviving are their three daughters: Mary (Eddie) Rahm of Ringgold, GA; Joanne (Barry) Woodworth of Chatham, IL; and Linda (Craig) Seggerman of Minonk, IL. Other survivors include their grandchildren: Lindsey (Sam) Gutierrez of Chattanooga, TN; Tyler (Trύc) Rahm of Ringgold, GA; Wade Seggerman (Martin) of Prairieville, LA; Adam (Kelsey) Seggerman of Atlanta, IL; Collin (Taylor) Seggerman of Minonk, IL; Rachel Woodworth of Cape Girardeau, MO; Jason Woodworth of Cape Girardeau, MO, IL; eight great-grandchildren; her sisters, Gladys Fentem and Hazel Hopkins and two sisters-in-law, Wilma Miller and Lorena Miller. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Lorena retired from the Woodford County Highway Department where she had been the bookkeeper. Lorena was active in the Roanoke United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir for years and served in the United Methodist Women where she held many leadership positions.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday February 3, 2021 at Knapp-Johnson-Harris Funeral Home in Roanoke. Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home and 9:30-10:30 prior to the services on Wednesday at the funeral home. Social distancing practices and guidelines will be followed for both visitation and funeral services. Due to Covid, the funeral service on Wednesday will be live streamed for viewing at the Knapp-Johnson-Harris Funeral Home Facebook page.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Roanoke United Methodist Women or OSF Hospice. Online condolences or tributes may be sent to the family at knappjohnsonharris.com
