Loretta Jean LaBounty of
Bloomington, Illinois passed away on May 22, 2013. Visitation will
be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 31, 2013 at
Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home, Bloomington, followed by a
private interment at a later date. Memorials may be made to
American Lung Association. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in
Bloomington is assisting the family with arrangements.
Loretta was born January 30, 1931,
at Bethany, Illinois, a daughter of Charles Delbert and Anna
Elizabeth Baum LaCost. Loretta married her loving husband, William
(Bill) LaBounty, on July 5, 1953 in Bethany, Illinois. He
survives.
Other survivors include her son:
Larry "Lars" (Sue) LaBounty; daughter: Leslie (Lee) Green; three
grandchildren: Kyle (Breanne) LaBounty, Sean (Susanne) LaBounty,
Angela LaBounty, her loving fiancé Jared Parker; and three great
grandchildren; Brodie, Hadley, and Kinzley LaBounty. Loretta is
also survived by five of her eleven siblings, Dale LaCost, Bill
LaCost, Sarah Morse, John LaCost and Pat Lillpop.
Loretta obtained a Bachelor of
Science in Home Economics with a minor in Mathematics, from
Illinois State Normal University in 1953. Loretta worked for the
University at Milner Library for 24 years in Government Documents,
retiring in 1992 along with her dear friend and supervisor Marian
Carroll.
Loretta was an avid gardener,
puzzler, and would get so lost in a good mystery that her family
swears a plane could land on the house and she wouldn't notice or
lose her spot. Her homemade pies and noodles will never be
replicated, nor the love in which she made them. She will be
greatly missed.
We would like to express our
gratitude to the caring, compassionate staff of Heritage Health
Normal, especially Brandi, Gerald, Stacey and Carrine. We would
also like to thank Dr. Peter S. Abadeer for all of his
thoughtfulness and compassion.
