Lucille Gonzalez
El Paso, IL - Lucille Gonzalez, 92, of El Paso passed away at
7:55 pm on Monday, October 8, 2012 at Heritage Health in El Paso,
IL. She was born on June 10, 1920 in Toluca, IL a daughter of Fred
and Bertha Renz Schoof.
Surviving Lucille are two sons, David Gonzalez of Westerville,
OH; Mark Gonzalez of Danville, CA; six grandchildren, one great
grandchild, one niece and five nephews. Her parents, two brothers
and two sisters preceded her in death.
Lucille began working as the manager of a lumberyard. After
moving to Chicago, much of Lucille's working life was spent as an
Executive Assistant within the Media & Advertising industry.
Lucille's penchant for poetry, literary works and crossword puzzles
were integral components throughout her life as she took great joy
in expressing herself with the written word and often uniquely
describing the world in which she lived. Her wit, whimsy and
fascination with life made an indelible imprint on everyone she
met. Later in her life, her literary hobbies led her to
philanthropic work in El Paso where she selflessly gave much of her
time to school-aged children as they learned to read.
Lucille's strong work ethic, passion for parenting and
generosity will forever be part of her legacy and those closest to
her will be eternally grateful for having been witness to Lucille's
strong will and independent spirit. Lucille will be fondly
remembered by all those who had the pleasure of meeting her
throughout her journey on Earth.
