Lyle Martin

Lyle Gene Martin, 91, of Roanoke passed away at 5:55 a.m. on Monday, May 3, 2021 at the Apostolic Christian Home of Roanoke.

Lyle was born on November 21, 1929 in Roanoke to Benjamin H. and Magdalena B. Funk Martin. He married Mary Lou Aeschleman on January 14, 1951 in Peoria. She survives.

Survivors also include two sons, Randall C. (Jan) Martin of St. Cloud, FL, Lendall L. (Karen) Martin of Normal; one daughter, Kris L. (Brian) Moore of Springfield, IL; one sister, Betty Yergler of Morton; nine grandchildren, Ryan (Jennifer) Martin, Rory (Christa) Martin, Regan (Mellie) Martin, Ross (Amber) Martin, Brienna (Jacob) Bradshaw, Trenton Moore, Calla Moore, Mollie Moore, Bricen Moore; and twenty-three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, one infant daughter, and one infant son.

Lyle was a US Army veteran serving in the Air Corps. He worked as an account manager at DSI.

He was a member of the Apostolic Church in Roanoke where services will be held on Sunday, May 9, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. Church ministers will officiate. Visitation will be from Noon to 12:45 p.m. at church prior to services. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Apostolic Christian Home of Roanoke or the Heart House in Eureka.
