Lyle E. Moser
Roanoke - Lyle E. Moser, 88, of Roanoke, passed away at 8:35 pm on Friday March 24, 2017 at the Apostolic Christian Home of Roanoke.
He was born on October 7, 1928 in Roanoke, IL to Edward and Olga Greuter Moser. He married Barbara E. Nohl on June 19, 1949 in Eureka, IL. She passed away on July 7, 2016.
Surviving are two daughters, Gladys (Tom) Carr of Secor; Sue Garber; two sons, Greg (Sharlene) Moser, Todd (Kathy) Moser; one son-in-law Rick Gerber; two brothers, Harley (Gerri) Moser; Glenn (Christa) Moser; one sister, Barbara (Richard) Stoller; all of Roanoke; twenty grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Mark and Leslie; one daughter, Shirley Gerber; and one brother, Calvin Moser; one granddaughter-in-law, Lisa Gerber; and one great grandson, Micah Gerber.
Lyle was self employed throughout his career, he farmed and held various sales positions in the area before he retired. He was known for his sense of humor and his love of music. He especially enjoyed singing hymns in his men's group and at church. Most of all Lyle loved his family and cherished the time spent with his children and grandchildren.
Lyle was a member of the Roanoke Apostolic Christian Church where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10 am. Church ministers will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4-7pm on Monday at Knapp-Johnson-Harris Funeral Home in Roanoke and from 9-9:45 prior to the services at the church on Tuesday. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Roanoke Apostolic Christian Home for the tender love and care given to their father.
