M. Strauch

October 12, 1924 — March 11, 2014

M. Lavonne Strauch, 89, of Benson, passed away at 12:50 a.m.,
Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Snyder Village. She was born October 12,
1924 in Benson to Conard and Florence (Linnenmann) Yount. She
married Harold Strauch in February of 1946 in Benson. He passed
away on June 14, 1983 in Benson.


She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Casey Strauch;
son-in-law, Chuck Kearfott, 2 brothers and 3 sisters.


Surviving are one son, Gregory (Sandra) Strauch of Hanna, WY; two
daughters, Mary Kearfott of Fairbury, IL, Juanita (Arnold) Ahrens
of Germantown Hills, IL; 1 brother, Lynn Yount of Peoria; 8
grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one on the way.


Lavonne worked for Caterpillar, she was a school bus driver, a
Fuller Brush representative, and a wonderful homemaker. She was a
member of St. John's Catholic Church in Benson and the Altar and
Rosary Society. She also led the singing for many years at her
church. She was a member of the Benson American Legion Auxiliary.
Lavonne enjoyed gardening and was an avid fisherman and excellent
marksman.


A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2014
at St. John's Catholic Church in Benson, IL with visitation one
half hour prior to the funeral Mass. Father Neri Greskoviak will
officiate. Visitation will also be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday at
Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in El Paso with rosary beginning at
4:45 p.m. Burial will be in Clayton Township Cemetery.
