Marilyn Gayle Johnson, 73, of
Normal, Illinois, formerly of Oak Park, Illinois, passed away at
11:58 p.m. on Saturday (March 2, 2013) at Advocate Bromenn Medical
Center in Normal, Illinois. Her funeral service will be at 10:00
a.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church in Bloomington, with
Reverend James Warren officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from
4-7 p.m. at Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home and for one hour
prior to services on Wednesday at the church. Interment will be at
Evergreen Cemetery followed by a luncheon at First Christian
Church. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home is assisting the family
with arrangements.
Marilyn was born March 15, 1939 in
Oak Park, Illinois the daughter of Edward and Gladys (Olsen) Ward.
She married Aubrey Johnson on June 20, 1959 at Austin Boulevard
Christian Church in Oak Park, IL, he survives.
In addition to her husband, she is
survived by her son: Wayne (Cindy) Johnson, of Huntsville, Alabama;
one daughter: Carole (Daniel) Dohse, of Des Plaines, IL; one
brother: Edward (Sharon) Ward of Cordova, Tennessee; seven
grandchildren: Alyssa Dohse, Austin Dohse and David Dohse of Des
Plaines, IL; Emily Johnson, Elisabeth Johnson, Ethan Johnson and
Ean Johnson of Huntsville, Alabama; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her stepfather Harold
Klumpp.
Marilyn graduated from Oak Park
River Forest High School, she worked at Growmark for 7 years and
Bergners for 13 years, in addition to her primary role as an
amazing homemaker. Her family would like to thank the exceptional
caring staff of the ICU and PCU at Advocate Bromenn Medical Center,
and the wonderful support of First Christian Church. Marilyn was
loving and caring to her family and friends, she made all of them
feel very special.
