Normal - Marjorie Adair Myers, 97,
of Normal, passed away at 3:24 a.m. on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at
Heartland Healthcare in Normal.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. on
Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in
Bloomington with Rev. Jennie Churchman officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the memorial
home on Saturday.
Interment will be at East Lawn
Memorial Gardens in Bloomington. Memorials may be made to
Stepping Stones at the YWCA McLean County or to the donor's
choice.
Marjorie was born on April 19, 1916
in Milford, IL, a daughter of Alva and Fleetie Pellam Griest.
She married Frank A. Myers on April 19, 1935 in Hoopeston,
IL. He preceded her in death on September 19, 1994.
Surviving are two daughters, Nancy
McCauley of Fort Worth, TX, Evelyn Oltman of Normal; two brothers,
Alva (Sharon) Griest of Kankakee, Jack (Kathy) Griest of Crete; a
sister, Helen
Cravens of Gilman; a sister in law,
Bessie Griest of Rantoul; two daughters in law, Gail Myers of
Elburn, Carolyn Myers of Bourbonnais; 8 grandchildren; 14 great
grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death is her
husband, Frank; her parents; a son, James L. Myers; three brothers,
Hiriam Griest, Jewel Griest, Howard Griest; a sister, Waneta Lawson
and two sons in law, Donald Oltman and Fr. Patrick McCauley.
Marjorie graduated from Milford
High School in Milford. She worked for G.E. for many years
and retired as a real estate agent.
She had a gift for amusing
children. She enjoyed Crocheting, quilting and cake
decorating.
Marjorie was a wonderful mother,
grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother.
She will be greatly missed by all her family.
