Mary "Peg" Elizabeth Weekly

Lacon-Mary Elizabeth Weekly, 92, of Lacon, passed away at 8:15
p.m. on Friday September 14, 2012 at Proctor Hospital.  She
was born on October 30, 1919 in Sparland to the late Frederick C.
and Alice Blair (Scoon) Herridge.  She married John L. Weekly
on October 30, 1946 in Sparland; he preceded her in death on May
27, 1997.

She is survived by three daughters, Judith (Karl) Hahn, Janet,
(Carl) Nave, and Jean (Bob) Janes, all of Lacon; grandchildren
Kristopher Hahn, of Lee Summit, MO, Cindy McClallen, of Eureka,
Amanda Silberer, of McComb, Eric Nave, of Morton, and Bryson
Wigand, of Lacon; and five great-grandchildren.


She was also preceded in death by four brothers.


Peg was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of LaPrairie
all her life.  She was also a member of the UP Women's
Missionary Club and the Square Dance Club.  During the war,
she worked at the Ration Board, and she worked at the Pink Elephant
Dress Shop for 22 years.  Peg loved to be outside working
in her yard.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and
friend who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.


Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday September 17, 2012 at Lenz
Memorial Home in Lacon.  Visitation will be one hour prior to
the services.   Burial will follow at the LaPraire United
Presbyterian Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the United
Church of Christ of Lacon Building Fund or to the Lacon Fire
Department and Rescue Squad.
