Melanie E. Mathews

Bloomington, IL -
Melanie Elizabeth Mathews, 54, of Bloomington, passed away  at
St. Joseph Hospital in Bloomington, on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at
9:21 pm; with her family by her side.  Visitation and Funeral
services will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at
Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington.  At an
early age she accepted Christ and was baptized at Mt. Pisgah
Baptist Church in Bloomington.  Pastor Frank L. McSwain Sr.,
of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church will officiate.  Visitation will
be from Noon to 1:00 pm, promptly followed by the Service at 1:00
pm.

Interment will be at Evergreen
Memorial Cemetery in Bloomington. In lieu of flowers,
memorials in Melanie's name may be made to the Community Cancer
Center.  Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home is handling
arrangements.

Melanie was born in Bloomington, IL
on August 14, 1958, to the union of Roy Lee and Elvenia
Mathews.
She attended Bloomington Public Schools.

Melanie is survived by three sons:
Jermaine (Meranda) Simmons, Dural Mathews, and Kevin Mathews, and
one grandchild, all of Bloomington.   Also surviving is
her mother Elvenia Mathews of Bloomington, Brothers Michael
(Abigail) Jones of Normal, IL, and Steven (Frances) Jones Denver,
CO.  Also surviving are a host of nieces and nephews, cousins
and friends.

Melanie was preceded in death by
her father Roy Lee Mathews, and her sister Sandol
Scott-Hancock.

Melanie was deeply loved by her
family and friends and will be sadly missed by all who knew
her.  Melanie was also an enthusiastic fan of the Dallas
Cowboys.
