Patricia A. Vogel
Roanoke- Patricia A. Vogel, 80, of Roanoke, passed away at 7:10 pm on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at the Apostolic Christian Home of Roanoke.
She was born on February 11, 1937 in Roanoke, IL to Harvey and Elizabeth Paluska Herbst. She married Louis P. Vogel on January 1, 1956 in Roanoke, IL. He survives.
Also surviving is one daughter, Beth (Ron) Roseman of Eureka, IL; two sons, Tom (Janice) Vogel of Dalhart, TX; Dan (Jill) Vogel of Secor, IL; one daughter-in-law, Laurie Vogel of Amarillo, TX; one sister, Susan (Leslie) Wettstein of Roanoke; 14 grandchldren; and 15 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Tim Vogel, and an infant sister.
Pat was a homemaker and always willing to help on the family farm. She also had worked as a telephone operator in Secor and El Paso before moving on to work in the clerk's office at the Woodford County Courthouse. She then went to Snyder Village in Metamora where she was volunteer coordinator and the activities director for 18 years and there she established and directed the "Kitchen Band"
Pat was a member of the Woodford County Home Extension and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed music and getting together on a regular basis with her high school classmates and friends. Pat enjoyed traveling with her family and friends. Her grandchildren were the light of her life.
She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Roanoke where funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday September 5th. Rev. Bruce Scarbeary will officiate. Visitation will be held on Monday September 4th from 5-7 pm at Knapp-Johnson-Harris Funeral Home in Roanoke and from 9-9:45 am on Tuesday at the church. Burial will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in rural Benson.
