Roanoke - Richard Fischer, 87, of Roanoke, IL, formerly of Bluffton, IN and Champaign, IL, passed away at 3:10 pm on Friday January 16, 2015 at the Apostolic Christian Home of Roanoke.
He was born on April 2, 1927 in Roanoke, IL to Samuel and Ida Rechkemmer Fischer. He married Dorothy Ennen on June 5, 1954 in Buckley, IL. She passed away on December 28, 2008.
Surviving are two daughters, Shirley (Steve) Willard of Cape Coral, FL; Sonya (Doug) Davee of Charleston, IL; one son, Steve (Joyce) Fischer of Bluffton, IN; four sisters, Lila Decker of Roanoke, IL; Laverne (Albert) Butikofer of Elgin, IA; Velda (Dick) Fisher of Aurora, IL; Ann Freesmeyer of Pekin, IL; nine grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Marvin, Wilmer, Lester, and Gerald.
An Army veteran, Richard served his country during the Korean War.
Richard was a self employed electrician for over 40 years.
He was a member of the Apostolic Christian Chruch.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday January 19, 2015 at the Roanoke Apostolic Christian Church. Church Ministers will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9-9:45 am at the church prior to the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
