Richard Shermer

Roanoke- Richard Shermer, 77, of Roanoke, passed away at 1:12 am
on Monday December 31, 2012 at Maple Lawn Homes in Eureka.

He was born on July 30, 1935 in Peoria, IL to Earl and Anna
Tilly Shermer.  He married Nancy Growth on June 1, 1979 in
Eureka, IL.  She survives.

Also surviving is one daughter, Lisa Kuebler of Roanoke; one
step daughter, Laura Stine of North Carolina; one sister, Betty
Evans of Hobard, IN; one brother, James Shermer of Edwardsville,
IL; 7 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and 2 great great
grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, April
Washer.

Richard was a truck driver and also had worked for SPAFAS in
Roanoke.  He had volunteered for the Woodford County Civil
Defense and was a member of Chapter Z.

Per his request there will be no services and cremation rites
will be accorded.  Knapp-Johnson-Harris Funeral Home in
Roanoke is in charge of arrangements.
