Roanoke- Richard E. Styner, 91, of Roanoke, formerly of Morris, IL, passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2022, at the Apostolic Christian Home of Roanoke.
He was born on December 23, 1930, in Joplin, MO to Percy and Ruth Ennefer Styner. He married Fleta M. Hodson on December 30, 1947, in Bentonville, AR. She passed away on July 21, 2013, in Peoria, IL.
Surviving is his daughter, Michaleen (Marvin) Braker; four grandchildren, Kevin (Janice) Braker; Karel (Nate) Hoffman; Jeremy Styner; Michelle (Mike) Murphy; sixteen great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sons John and Richard Styner.
Richard was an over-the-road truck driver all his life. He never knew a stranger and loved to visit at the local coffee shop sitting around the “farmer’s table”. Even after retiring, one of his favorite things to do, was just get in his car and drive around.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Minonk.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at Knapp-Johnson-Harris Funeral Home in Roanoke. Visitation will be held from 10-10:45 prior to the services.
Burial will be at Roanoke Township Cemetery. The services will be live streamed on the Knapp-Johnson-Harris Facebook page.
