Ronald E. Smith "POP A TOP"

Ronald E. Smith "POP A TOP", 73, of Bloomington, IL passed away
at 3:40 pm on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at OSF St. Joseph Hospital
in Bloomington, IL.

He was born on October 20, 1939 in Bloomington, IL a son of
Leslie G. and Charlotte D. Beatty Smith. He married Bonnie Sue
Smith on September 15, 1979 in Monticello, IL. She passed away on
July 2, 2006.

Survivors include three sons, Timothy Smith of Missouri; Bradley
(January) Smith of Colorado; Justin (Jill) Smith of Bloomington;
three daughters, Ronna Phillips (Alan) of Bloomington; Sheena (Rod)
Hempstead of El Paso; Kristi (Kevin) Simpson of Downs; four
grandchildren, Jessie-Ann; Taylor; Colton; Lucas; two great
grandchildren, Ellie and Asher; two brothers, two sisters, many
nieces and nephews; and his two dogs, Abby-Sue and Kahlua.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Barb
Porter, one granddaughter, Kecia, and his wife.

He was a member of the Teamsters Union for 35 years
and Local Hall #26, McLean County Concrete and Asphalt, Moose Lodge
and was president on the board of Tri-Lakes in Bloomington. His
hobbies included NASCAR especially Jeff Gordon, he was a country
music fan, he supported the Green Bay Packers and St. Louis
Cardinals and he enjoyed bald eagles. Ron especially enjoyed
spending time with his kids and grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, January 14,
2013 at Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington, IL.
Mark Wallace will officiate. Visitation will be held on Sunday
afternoon from 2-5 pm and one hour prior to the service at the
funeral home. Burial will be in Hudson Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast
