Eureka- Rose Martha "Marty" Schlatter, 89, of Eureka, IL passed
away at 4:12 am on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at the Eureka Apostolic
Christian Nursing Home where she was a resident.

She was born on March 8, 1923 in Roanoke, IL a daughter of
Theodore and Louise Charlotte Knapp Schlatter.

Surviving is one sister, Erma L. (Bill) See of Peoria, IL; one
nephew, Mike (Judy) Mangold of Eureka, IL; six nieces, Mary R. See
of Peoria, IL; Kathy Schlatter of Loma Linda, CA; Kris Schlatter of
Redlands, CA; Charoltee (Brent) Hoerr of Palmyra, MO; Ann See of
Peoria, IL; Terry (Dwight) Johnson of Roscoe, IL; and six great
nieces and nephews, David Hoerr, Jennifer Hoerr, Michael Mangold,
Erica Mangold, Ryan Mangold, and Rebecca Mangold.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Ted
Schlatter; and one sister, Mary Mangold.

Marty started her career working for Herschel Manufacturing
Company in Peoria, IL. She then was hired to work at Hiram Walker.
She started working in the purchasing department and worked her way
through various departments to secretary to the general production
manager. She was then promoted and moved to Burlingame, California
to work for the production manager.

She enjoyed traveling and visiting relatives in Switzerland. She
went back to school to study German after her retirement. A devout
Christian, Marty served her Lord and others. She especially enjoyed
her nieces and nephews whom she treated as her own children. She
had a great love for animals, especially dogs.

She was a member of the Washington Apostolic Christian Church
where funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, October
12, 2012. Church ministers will officiate. Visitation will be held
on Thursday evening from 4-7 pm at the Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral
Home in Eureka and from 9:00-9:45 am on Friday before the service
at the church. Burial will be in the Washington Apostolic
Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Eureka Apostolic
