Roanoke-Rose M. Ulrich, 70, passed away at 9:45 pm on Sunday, July 30, 2017 at the Roanoke Apostolic Christian Home.
She was born on August 29, 1946 in Washington, IL a daughter of Peter and Idabelle Hostetler Eigsti. She married Vilas R. Ulrich on April 5, 1963 in Roanoke. He passed away on March 14, 2007.
Surviving are her children, Lonnie (Linda) Ulrich of Metamora; Sharon (Jim) Kennell of Benson; Sandra (Dave) Steffen of El Paso; one brother, Art (Luella) Eigsti of Eureka; two sisters, Edna (Mervin) Chupp of Casa Grande, AZ; Nellie Hostetler of Hesston, KS; fifteen grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one granddaughter, one brother Clarence Eigsti; and two sisters, Bertha Hostetler and Mary Zoss.
Rose worked as a school teacher and helped her husband farm. She also worked as a cook at the Roanoke Apostolic Christian Home and at Mika's in Eureka.
She had many hobbies that she enjoyed including baking, cooking, sewing, doing crafts, and camping. Rose volunteered at the Et Cetera shop in Eureka. But above all these her greatest love was spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She was a member of the Eureka Bible Church where funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, August 3, 2017. Pastor Aaron Zehr will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm on Wednesday at the Knapp-Johnson-Harris Funeral Home in Roanoke and from 9:30-10 am before the service at her church. Burial will be in the Roanoke Mennonite Cemetery.
