Shirley Kennell

Roanoke-Shirley M. Kennell, 60, of Roanoke passed away on July 13, 2017 at her residence. She was born on December 5, 1956 in Peoria, IL a daughter of Eugene and Charlotte Scheafer Blain. She married Arthur L. Kennell on July 10, 1976 in Eureka, IL. He survives.

Also surviving are her children, Rachel (Rich) Dickinson of Congerville, IL; Anna (Kevin) Peters of Washington, IL; her grandchildren, Grace, Hope, and Matthew Dickinson; Lydia, Kaylee, and John Arthur Peters; one brother, Carl (Caroline) Blain of East Peoria; and one sister, Elaine Meister of Leroy, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Shirley had worked at the Et Cetera Shop in Eureka for over 20 years. She enjoyed going fishing, gardening, and spending time with her family, but her greatest love was time spent with her grandchildren.

She was a member of the Cazenovia Mennonite Church. Her funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at the Roanoke Mennonite Church. Dennis Kennell will officiate. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-7 pm at the Knapp-Johnson-Harris Funeral Home in Roanoke and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in the Roanoke Mennonite Cemetery.
