Bloomington-Thelma L. Edwards, 87,
of Bloomington, formerly of Anchor, passed away at 6:55 p.m.
Sunday, October 7, 2012 at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in
Normal. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October
10, 2012 at Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington with
Rev. Wendell Wardell officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m.
Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in
Bloomington and one hour prior to the services at the memorial home
on Wednesday. Interment will be in Hudson Cemetery. In lieu of
flowers, memorials may be made to Church of Christ in Cooksville or
American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
Thelma was born on May 22, 1925 in
Russellville, Kentucky to Frank and Effie (Lawson) Boatwright. She
married Clayton L. Edwards on March 9, 1940 in Clifty, Kentucky. He
preceded her in death on August 18, 1999.
Surviving are her children, Barbara
(Ron) Wahl of Morton; Danny (Connie) Edwards of Hudson; Helen
(Norman) Brooks of Clinton; Clara (Ron) Hempstead of Normal; Randy
(Laura) Edwards of Hudson; Paula (Rick) Hammond of Bloomington;
Paul (Tina) Edwards of Hudson; 24 grandchildren; 28
great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Cindy Edwards of El Paso;
life long friend, Peggy Stretch of Bloomington.
She was preceded in death by her
parents, one son, Rick Edwards, five sisters and one brother.
She was a member of the Church of
Christ in Cooksville.
Thelma was a homemaker and babysat
for many children through out the years.
The family would like to thank the
family and friends who helped take care of Thelma, enabling her to
stay in her home.
