Viola Brooks

October 9, 1917 — November 24, 2013

Normal - Viola C. Brooks, 96 of Normal, formerly of
Lexington,  passed away at 12:25 p.m. on Sunday, November 24,
2013 at Heritage Health  in Normal.

Graveside service will be held at
3:00 pm on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at Olio Township cemetery
in Eureka with Jeff Buford officiating.  Visitation will be
from 1-2:00 pm on Wednesday prior to the graveside service  at
Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington.

Viola was born on October 9, 1917
in Lawndale Township, Rural McLean County a daughter of Charles L.
and Jennie (Harms) Moncelle.  She married Virgil M. Brooks on
October 8, 1938.

Surviving are two sons, Kenneth D.
(Linda) Brooks, of Bloomington, Donald K. (Kathleen) Brooks,
of  Peotone; three grandsons, Steven D. (Brenda) Brooks,
Matthew R. Brooks, Mark W. (Michelle) Brooks; two great
grandchildren, Alex Brooks and Amber Brooks.

In addition to her husband Virgil,
Viola was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and four
brothers.

Viola was a member of the First
United Methodist Church of Lexington for over 50 years and when she
moved to Bloomington, she joined Grace United Methodist
Church.

She enjoyed drawing, working with
her flowers and had a green thumb.  She enjoyed spending time
with her family.  She was a loving mother and wonderful
friend.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may
made to First United Methodist Church of Lexington, the Arthritis
Foundation, or to an organization of the donor's choice.
