Virginia P. Meginnes
El Paso-Virginia P. Meginnes, 92, of El Paso passed away at 8:29
a.m. on Sunday, April 14,
2013 at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, Normal.
Celebration of life services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April
19,
2013 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Secor. Rev. Scott Adle
will
officiate. Inurnment will be in Secor Cemetery. A luncheon will
follow
in the church fellowship hall. Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home
is
assisting the family with arrangements.
Virginia was born November 2, 1920 in Greene Township, Woodford
County a
daughter of Harold and Tillie Aeschleman Boller. She married
Lawrence
William Meginnes, Jr. on November 24, 1940 at Secor. He died July
31,
2004.
Survivors include her children, Sarah (Dowtin) Martin, Nashville,
TN,
Robert L. (Teri) Meginnes, Secor and Paul V. (Connie) Meginnes,
North
Little Rock, Arkansas; 9 grandchildren, Craig Wainscott,
Annapolis, MD,
Cami (Bobby) Wright, Nashville, TN, Bryon Meginnes, Witchita, KS,
Scott
(Brittany) Meginnes, North Little Rock, Arkansas, Quinn
(Patrick)
Mullin, Valpraiso, IN, Nathan Meginnes, Bloomington, Emily
Meginnes,
Decatur, Rebecca (Michael) Herbst, Roanoke and Stephanie
Meginnes,
Roanoke; and 12 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant son,
Craig.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Secor where she
was a member
of the Ladies Aid and played the organ and accompanied the church
choir
for over 50 years. She graduated from Roanoke High School class of
1938
and was previously employed by the Elms Restaurant in El Paso.
Virginia
loved her cat, Buddy and truly enjoyed driving her red
mustang.
